Beauty Tip: Foundation

1. Most foundations wil look darker in the tube, bottle etc. than they will on your skin. Test the foundation on your jawline before buying to make sure it is the same color as your skin.

2. Don't use foundations that are too light and make you look ghostly.

3. Don't put too much on - the foundation shouldn't be visible.

4. Make sure you don't have a foundation mask ( when you can see where the foundation ends).

5. Mask regularly so you won't have dead skin that shows up under the foundation.

6. Keep foundation looking natural.

Fashion Tips of the Week

Aloe vera has long been known for it's skin beautifying properties and soothing effects. It also makes a wonderful, all over body moisturizer and can be personalized with your favorite scent.

Simply purchase a large container of pure aloe, which is available at most drug stores. Add 2-3 drops of essential oil (per application), depending on your mood. Here are some ideas:

  •  Lavender works well as a relaxant and skin tonic.

  •  Orange or lemon oil is uplifting and energizing.

  •  Calendula and rosemary both soothe irritated skin and rashes.

By making your own aloe body moisturizers, you'll keep your skin smooth and supple while enlivening your senses.

Fashion And Beauty Makeup Tips

Cosmetics or makeup are substances to enhance the beauty of your body, apart from simple cleaning.

The role of modern makeup is to simulate youthfulness, health and, to an extent, arousal.
The various forms of cosmetic include lipstick and lip gloss used to colour the lips, a facsimile of sexual arousal); foundation, powder, and rouge (used to colour the face, lightening and removing flaws to produce an impression of health and youth); mascara (used to enhance the eyelashes, larger eyes compared to face is a sign of youth) and eyeliner and eyeshadow (used to colour the eyelids); and nail polish (used to colour the fingernails and toenails).
Learn the correct uses of the cosmetics and makeup tips to present your enhanced and beautiful self.

Beauty and Fashion Tips for Plus Sized Women

.. No matter what your size, any woman can look beautiful if she knows a few tricks to help her look her best. Plus sized women are no exception. Stars like Delta Burke have shown us that a woman’s weight has nothing to do with her beauty. Knowing how to choose the right clothes, the right jewelry, the right makeup, and the right hairstyle can transform any woman into a fashion diva!
When choosing a wardrobe, don’t follow the myth that all women over a size six should be covered in dark colors. If you look great in dark colors, fine! But don’t sentence yourself to wearing them all the time! However, choosing the same color in jackets and pants, no matter it’s hue or shade, can make a woman look slimmer. If you like khaki pants, and can choose a sweater or jacket in the same color khaki, the solid line of color all the way down the body creates a line that makes any body appear slimmer. You can wear a blouse in a contrasting color to add that needed bit of drama. Choose those colors that make you shine!
Remember, in choosing clothes think vertical, not horizontal! Bold buttons down the front of a jacket, a long necklace, and vertical stripes are all ways of “thinking vertical”. These tricks draw the eye up and down, not side to side. Don’t let fashion myths keep you from wearing the colors that make you feel good. When you feel good, you’ll look good!
The one area I see many women making a huge mistake in dressing is size. If you wear a twenty, don’t try to squeeze into an eighteen. Just because they zip, doesn’t mean they fit!
Pants should drape, not wrinkle tightly across the back of the leg. Skirts should hang without tugging or hugging the underside of the bottom. Blouses should not gape open at the buttons. No matter what your size, choose clothes that fit. If you have any doubts, ask the opinion of the sales girl as to the fit. Wearing clothes that are too tight makes you look larger, not smaller.
Hair dressers can be a great source of ideas in choosing a hairstyle. Don’t think just because you have a round face, you have to go short. Long hair can look fabulous on any size woman and any age woman if it’s taken care of and styled to suit her face. Bangs, especially brushed to the side, create an angle that slims a round face. Light feathering of hair around the face can soften the lines, too. But you see a hairstyle you love, don’t hesitate to try something new!

Lynne Kush's Top Beauty Pageant Tips

As a delegate co-coordinator for the Face of Champ Car contest and a former Miss Molson Indy Canada (as well as Playboy Cyber Girl of the Month for January 2006), I've seen a lot of girls enter contests and beauty pageants and leave either very happy or very disappointed.

So these are my Top 10 Tips for models to be successful....in my opinion!

Tip # 5 – Be courteous to your fellow models. Lynne is third from right,

TIP # 1 – Never act like you are the best thing that just walked through the door! Leave the pre-madonnna attitude at home! No matter what contest you are in, or what event you are at, or no matter how well you think you are going to fair...always act like you are the newest kid on the block! You can always stand to learn a new thing or two from your fellow contestants or organizers.

TIP #2 – Always investigate or learn about the contest you are entering or the event you are trying to represent. Nothing looks more "model type" than someone that does not have a clue about the event or company they are representing. Do some homework, memorize a little bit. And if there's questions that come up during the event that you are unsure of, then be honest and say you do not know the answer. Do not try to fake it!

TIP $3 – Be prepared for the event. Never leave outfits or routines for contests until the last minute. You'll run out of time, and then you will not be satisfied with your selections. Always bring a little sewing kit with you, because you never know when you'll have to make last-minute fixes! Always bring a cordless curling iron if you are curling your hair because there is almost never a plug outlet in change rooms! Always bring your own mirror! Why fight for a mirror with all the others?

Full of conficence – and with a smile – Lynne sweeps the stage to victory.

TIP #4 – Be on time! Always! This is a must. Being fashionably late for a contest or an event....is bad business! No one cares if you had to powder your nose....again! In this business being late often means that someone else will get your spot!

TIP #5 – Be curtious to your fellow models. There's no point to being rivals and bad-mouthing each other. Yes, it makes for an interesting competition but when the contest is over, it just makes for enemies! Treat everyone with respect.

TIP #6 – Do not-bad talk your fellow contestants/models at any point in time! I know this one sounds like #5 but it bares repeating! Talking to girls about other girls....never stays a secret! A lesson to be well learned by many females. From experience....it's never the loudest girl that wins!

On stage at the Indy – in a matter of moments, Lynne takes the title.

TIP #7 – Respect the organizers of the contest. These are the people that can make or break you. If you think for one second they do not have any hand in selecting the winner...guess again! The judges may pick the winner, but the organizers often give a full report to the judges about how a contestant has been acting throughout the event. Everything does get noticed. Even when you think you are not being judged....guess what? You are being judged. So you usually cannot fake it!

TIP #8 – Respect the rules of the contest. If there is a curfew, even if you are 30 years old, there's a reason for the curfew! Don't be shocked if there's a surprise check at your door just after curfew.

TIP #9 – Leave your boyfriends at home!!! Oh for god sakes, this one has to be the biggest one! Ladies, your boyfriend can be your best friend, but at times your worst enemy. Guys love to see girls in magazines, or whereever but when it is their girlfriend that is being the subject of every man's attention, watch out for a change in attitude. Don't let him dictate what you can and cannot do. If you want to enter a contest or do a photo shoot, and if you've done your homework prior to, it, then all the more power to you. Tell the boyfriend that you'll call him when you get the chance during the event but you'll be busy!

TIP #10 – Have fun! Enjoy the experience. Whether it is a contest, an event, a show or whatever, treat it like you may never get to be there again or do itt ever again. Soak up the memories! And always follow up with a kind thank you email to the organizers so you never burn your bridges!

BONUS TIP – Refrain from saying the contest was fixed if you do not win. It just makes you look like a sore loser. That's why it's so important that you try to just have fun instead.

By being yourself, learning about the contest you are entering and being prepared you, too, can be living the model rock star lifestyle.
