World's Best Kept Beauty Secrets: What Really Works In Beauty, Diet &
Fashion
Who knew that models use hemorrhoid cream to combat eye puffiness? Diane
Irons knew, that's who. She's a model herself and has compiled a bunch of
little-known but definitely useful beauty tips. Her advice ranges from the
unusual (play classical music at mealtimes and you'll eat less; add aspirin to
shampoo to combat dandruff) to the downright wacky (use mascara to touch up hair
roots; use antiperspirant on your feet in summer). Hey, if it works, it works!
She's also included tons of diet tips, including 50 recipes that check in at 200
calories or less per serving, as well as lists of herbs and supplements to aid
quick weight loss. With many of the tips geared toward women on the run, this
book is like a Hints from Heloise for the glamour set. --This text refers to the

Works in Beauty, Diet & Fashion
This is a wonderful little book (250 pages) packed with all kinds of common
sense beauty tips and hints.
The amazing beauty secrets packed into 21 chapters includes everything from
supermodels' tips on using milk to exfoliate skin to a list of wonderful hair
conditioners that you can easily and inexpensively make at home.
Chapter 3 of her book is jam packed with all kinds of hair secrets which
includes hair treatment recipes for oily and dry hair. She has a great
suggestion for natural color hair enhancers that you can buy at the health food
stores with no danger of chemical damage.
I personally tried her nourishing hair pack and was impressed with the results
and the simplicity of the treatment. I did not find any hair secrets or recipes
that I did not either enjoy or agree with. She offers a lot of great hair wisdom
that is kept secret by the beautiful people.Diane also includes some great
secrets for skin, makeup, hand and feet care and easy fashion tips. I really
enjoyed her chapters on Bargains and Anti-Aging secrets. The Bargains chapter
includes a list of locations where you can say money on all your favorite hair
and skin care products. I copied down several of her suggestions and plan to
enter the beauty shopping zone in the near future.
Diane closes this little gem of a book with an introduction to using the
Internet to get additional free beauty tips and help. Her Internet chapter
touched a subject near and dear to my heart and The Hair Boutique.
This book is well worth the price. If you use just a few of Diane's home hair
care recipes you will save the price of the book in no time. I know I will be
referring to Diane's book for years to come.
Beauty, and fashion, Secrets Diane
beauty, and fashion, and I was very pleased with "The World's
Best-Kept Beauty Secrets". Diane compiles over 230 essential pages of tips,
advice, and secrets. Besides covering beauty, this book also features hair care
advice, very neat fashion tips, delicious recipies all under 200 calories, diet
secrets, and much, much more. For example, you can make cleansing masks out of
kitty litter and mayonnaise (yes, kitty litter and mayonnaise), that work just
as well, if not better, than store-bought masks. What to do if that party
information says "Formal Dress" or "City Attire"? Turn to this book to find a
description of good things to wear! Also, an entire chapter is devoted to
secrets of models that seem to always look perfect. Did you know that many
models use toothbrushes to clean their lips?- the bristles help slough off dead
skin. Or that small birthday candles can get a stuck zipper to get going again?
How about washing that scorched shirt from your iron with a basin of hydrogen
peroxide and mild detergent?- it will bring your shirt back to life! Find many
more of these useful tips, and much more in "The World's Best Kept Beauty
Secrets". It's a great invesment for all women, and will help you look your best
no matter what.

acids that brighten, tighten, and plump up wrinkles.
A Gentler Slougher: Clinique Turnaround Concentrate Visible Skin Renewer ($37)
"A nice combination of exfoliating salicylic acid and soothing horse chestnut in
a hygienic pump. It's not runny or slick -- this serum stays put."
-- Deborah Sarnoff
Neck Pamperer: Shiseido Benefiance Concentrated Neck Contour Treatment ($48)
"I currently use face cream on my neck, but I'd switch to this in a minute. The
texture is incredible."
-- Cid Scantlebury
Bright Idea: Dr. Sebagh Deep Exfoliating Mask ($115)

Antioxidant du Jour: Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Treatment ($150)
"Idebenone is a very potent antioxidant and a real success story this year. This
is the OTC version, half the concentration of prescription strength. When
patients try this product, they always want to buy more. It works."
-- Susan Taylor
The Ultimate Night Cream: Chanel Sublimage Essential Regenerating Cream ($350)
"This rich botanical cream is a great daytime partner to Renova or Retin-A at
night. Drier skins can alternate this with retinoids every other night to boost
moisture and restore a silky texture."
-- Debra Jaliman
Line Smoother: Kiehl's Dermatologist Solutions Powerful-Strength Line Reducing
Concentrate ($55)
"I've been a Kiehl's girl since 1988. After three months of using this vitamin C
serum, I see a real softening in my marionette lines and forehead creases." --
Cid Scantlebury
Blotch Buster: Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Face Serum

"This kojic acid formula is a favorite among my patients with dry,
hyperpigmented skin. Try wearing it under a tinted moisturizer or sun block."

a soothing natural treatment for skin prone to ruddiness or irritation."

it on this rich hyaluronic cream, which turns skin to butter -- even knees and
elbows," Taylor says.
Lancome High Resolution with Collaser -- 48 ($6O)
"The rice peptides and vitamin C speed up collagen renewal, so skin feels more
supple and looks plumped up," Jaliman says.
L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Pro-Calcium Restorative Hydrating Cream ($25)

injectable line filler Radiesse," Sarnoff says. "Used topically, it activates
lipids in the skin, strengthening their barrier function so your skin feels

they're also no-mess exfoliators. No rinsing required," Pak says.

wear our glasses in the shower!" Katz says.)
Flake Stopper: Frederic Fekkai Sensitive Scalp Shampoo ($20)
"I wear a lot of black, so it's important to keep my scalp moisturized to
prevent flakes. I'd rather use this appealing lavender and honey product than a

highlighted hair from getting that fuzzy look after blow-drying," Hui says.
John Frieda Frizz-Ease Critical Care Masque ($6)
"Great blend of silicone, milk proteins, and avocado oil that softens and
nourishes coarse hair -- especially African-American or gray hair -- and keeps
frizz at bay," Nicholls says. "A must for those who heat style and color their
